Fun facts about UV Rays which are very common in our life

Hi folks!

Today we will be talking about Ultra Radiation, what it is, where it comes from, its effects and how to prevent its damage to humans. Without further ado, let’s go straight off to “What It Is”……

Ultraviolet radiation, also known as UV rays, is a form of energy that comes from the sun with a wavelength of about 10nm. Due to this minute size, it is not visible to the human eye. Also, it is part of the electromagnetic spectrum of light which consists of other waves of light like X-rays, Radio waves, Infrared (IR), Visible light and gamma rays (of course not in this order)

Next, we want to see where “the big guy”, UV rays, comes from….

UV rays naturally originate from the sun. They’re mainly emitted from tanning lamps and black lights so BEWARE!!!

Anyways, UV rays aren’t all that bad. It helps in stimulating the production of Vitamin D in our body. However, too much exposure to it can be deadly. It can cause diseases like early wrinkles, eye problems and sometimes skin cancer.

It’s scary, isn’t it? Well, the only way to protect ourselves from UV rays is:

  1. Avoid over exposure to sunlight.
  2. Apply an ample amount of sunscreen on parts of your skin exposed to the sunlight before stepping out.
  3. Wear sunglasses that block over approx. 100% of the UV rays.

I believe that with all these measures taken, we can live in a happy world. Thank you for stopping by.
